Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Butchery Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation and presentation of high-quality meat products in a professional environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and preferably possess relevant culinary or kitchen experience. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills in butchery and food safety within a reputable establishment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the butchery and preparation of various meat cuts in accordance with company standards
- Support food production processes, ensuring efficient workflow in the meat department
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Help with food preparation tasks such as trimming, portioning, and packaging meat products
- Ensure all products are stored correctly, following health and safety guidelines
- Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and organising supplies
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
Requirements
- Previous experience in food production is preferred
- Knowledge of butchery techniques and food safety standards is highly desirable
- Experience working in a restaurant or similar setting will be considered an asset
- Strong understanding of food preparation and presentation standards
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to butchery and food handling
- Excellent customer service with a naturally friendly nature
Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Sunday - 24 hours per week. Rate of pay will depend on age and skill.
Experience would be good but not necessary, however willing to learn is very important. We are happy to train the right candidate who is interested in learning this craft.
