VACANCY – Electrical Operations Supervisor

Our Primary client base includes the Utilities and Construction sectors. Morgan Marine Ltd is an ambitious, dynamic, and professional organisation with over 60 years of manufacturing in the Carmarthenshire area. Due to our continued growth, we are looking to strengthen our Electrical Department with an Electrical Operations Supervisor.
THE ROLE: Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Electrical Department, supervising and supporting shop floor electricians while ensuring all electrical work is completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard. You will conduct performance reviews, support staff development and ensure employees remain trained and compliant with current electrical standards and legislation. The role involves supporting the maintenance of NICEIC accreditation , previous experience as a NICEIC QS adventitious, though not essential, as this would be developed in-house; Ensuring compliance with the latest IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018), managing electrical requisitions and material control processes, and working closely with production teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule. You will also oversee PAT testing records and electrical compliance requirements, support factory electrical maintenance, repairs and fault-finding activities, provide technical guidance to other departments, and drive continuous improvement whilst maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping throughout the department. Coverage of multiple sites may be required in line with business needs.
REQUIRED SKILLS: The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of BS7671:2018 Wiring Regulations and experience in electrical inspection, testing and fault finding. Candidates must have completed their NVQ3 and passed the AM2 exam and hold an ECS/JIB gold card for at least 2 years, ideally at approved level, though approved not essential as can be worked towards, in-house and should hold City & Guilds 2381 (18th Edition) and City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualifications. A strong background in leadership and people management is essential, together with good planning, organisational and communication skills. Experience of Health & Safety management is required. City & Guilds 2377 (PAT Testing) would be advantageous.
