Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester for CLASS IV AND V Vehicles to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for ensuring vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. As an MOT Tester, you will play a crucial role in maintaining road safety by conducting thorough inspections and tests on a variety of vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests on cars and light commercial vehicles in accordance with DVSA regulations.
- Inspect vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension systems.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform repairs and adjustments as necessary.
- Identify any faults or issues that may affect the vehicle's performance or safety.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining test results and recommendations to vehicle owners.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all equipment is properly stored after use.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times while performing duties.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required during inspections or repairs.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers effectively.
- A valid MOT Tester licence is essential for this position.
