Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Telehandler Operator to join our construction and logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating telehandlers efficiently across various sites, ensuring the safe movement of materials and equipment. Responsibilities
- Operate telehandlers safely and effectively to move materials, pallets, and equipment around construction sites or warehouses.
- Conduct routine inspections of the telehandler before each shift, ensuring it is in proper working order.
- Assist with loading and unloading lorries, ensuring materials are handled securely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with site managers and team members to coordinate material deliveries and placements according to project schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including usage logs and safety checks.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with basic mechanical tasks or troubleshooting as needed, leveraging mechanical knowledge to identify issues promptly.
- Operate excavators or other machinery if required, demonstrating versatility on site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in operating telehandlers in a commercial environment.
- Valid certification for operating telehandlers (e.g., CPCS or NPORS).
- Experience with excavators is desirable but not essential.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to construction sites.
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving purposes.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy loads safely.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and safety compliance.
