Join our Housing Team
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Assistant Housing Officer to join our Housing Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with social housing experience who enjoys working closely with residents and making a positive difference within local communities.
As an Assistant Housing Officer, you will support the delivery of a high-quality housing management service across our homes in Stoke-on-Trent. The role is varied and includes tenancy management, allocations, and assisting with tenancy-related issues.
Working Pattern: Full-time, office and community based (not home working)
What you'll be doing
- Supporting tenants throughout their tenancy journey.
- Carrying out home visits and annual tenancy reviews.
- Conducting property viewings and tenancy sign-ups.
- Supporting the allocation and letting of vacant homes.
- Helping to manage tenancy breaches.
- Referring residents to support and advice services where needed.
- Maintaining accurate housing records.
What we're looking for
Essential requirements include:
- Minimum two years' experience in a similar housing role within a Housing Association or Local Authority.
- Good understanding of housing management services.
- Experience using housing management systems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Full UK driving licence.
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
Desirable:
- A Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) qualification, or a willingness to work towards a relevant professional housing qualification. We actively support staff development and ongoing learning.
