Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and hands-on Restaurant Supervisor to join our hospitality team at Hambledon Wine Estate.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for food, wine and exceptional hospitality to take the next step in their career. As Restaurant Supervisor, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, supporting the management team to deliver outstanding guest experiences while leading, developing and inspiring the front of house team.

Key ResponsibilitiesService & Operations
- Lead and supervise restaurant service, ensuring every guest receives exceptional hospitality.
- Support the Restaurant Management team in the smooth day-to-day operation of the restaurant.
- Run services confidently, ensuring efficient communication between the front and back of house teams.
- Deliver daily pre-service briefings, communicating menu changes, service priorities and operational updates.
- Produce accurate daily service reports and communicate key information to the management team.
- Ensure the restaurant is presented to the highest standards at all times.
- Resolve guest queries and complaints professionally and confidently.
Team Leadership
- Support with creating weekly rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Assist with staffing plans for busy periods, seasonal trade and special events.
- Coordinate front of house staffing requirements for private events and functions.
- Deliver training and coaching to new and existing team members, helping to develop skills and maintain service standards.
- Encourage a positive, supportive and collaborative team culture.
- Provide regular feedback and identify opportunities for team development.
Administration & Communication
- Keep the Front of House group communication channels updated with relevant operational information.
- Assist with till programming and ensure menus and POS systems remain accurate and up to date.
- Support with menu updates, ensuring all printed and digital menus reflect current offerings.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to develop menus and maintain accurate allergen information.
- Ensure allergen charts and menu documentation are updated and compliant with current legislation.
Guest Experience
- Lead by example in delivering warm, knowledgeable and personalised service.
- Build strong relationships with returning guests and members.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience and exceed expectations.
- Promote seasonal menus, wines and experiences confidently.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
- Confident running busy services and supporting a high-performing team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate others.
- Passion for food, wine and delivering exceptional hospitality.
- Experience with rota planning and event staffing is desirable.
- Good understanding of food safety and allergen management.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and restaurant booking/POS systems (Toast experience is advantageous).
