Summary:
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and compassionate Laundry and Domestic Worker to join our team in a caring nursing home environment. In this varied role, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection prevention throughout the home while ensuring residents' clothing and linens are laundered, ironed, folded, and returned promptly.
Duties include washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distributing laundry, cleaning and disinfecting residents' rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and other facilities, as well as carrying out routine housekeeping tasks to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will work both independently and as part of a supportive team, following infection prevention and health and safety procedures at all times.
The ideal candidate will have good organisational skills, attention to detail, and a positive, caring approach. Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or domestic services is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distributing laundry, minor sewing.
Clean and disinfect all areas of the nursing home, including resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and kitchen and dining areas.
Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and replacing air filters.
Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Report any repairs or maintenance issues to the Nursing Home Manager.
Assist with other tasks as needed, such as setting up and cleaning up for meals and activities.
Qualifications:
At least 6 months of experience working in a healthcare or hospitality setting preferred.
Strong cleaning and sanitation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to follow instructions carefully.
Compassionate and respectful attitude towards residents and staff.
Job Type: Part-time
