Edward Jenner School is small and unique with currently 45 students. It is a co-educational independent day school located in the heart of Gloucester. Founded in September 2012 by Manda Brookes (the sole proprietor) and her husband Phil, who are incredibly enthusiastic about teaching and learning. We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and compassionate 1:1 Mentor/Teaching Assistant to support a Year 11 student on an individual basis.
Working term time only.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people thrive both socially and emotionally, working towards some basic Maths and English. The successful candidate will build a positive and trusting relationship with the student while providing tailored support to encourage engagement, confidence, independence and personal growth.
You will need to have experience working with students with SEMH and Autism, have a fun, positive and nurturing approach, be able to motivate and have a creative, flexible approach to adapt support to the needs of the student.
Ability to sew and undertake a range of arts, crafts and cooking is essential.
Driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable
