Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Lunchtime Assistant to support our Nursery during the midday break. The successful candidate will help supervise children, ensure their safety, and promote a positive lunchtime environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in childcare, teaching, or working with children in a nursery. Previous experience in childcare, nannying, or teaching is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Supervise and assist children during lunchtime
- Assist with serving meals and managing lunchtime routine
- Engage children in organised activities or games to promote socialisation and enjoyment
- Assist with children who require a sleep after lunch
- Support children with their dietary needs and personal hygiene as required
- Maintain a safe and clean dining area, ensuring all health and safety standards are adhered to
- Collaborate with nursery staff to create a welcoming lunchtime environment
- Help facilitate smooth transitions between lunchtime and afternoon lessons or activities
- Support children who may require additional assistance, including those with additional needs
Experience
- Previous experience in childcare, nannying, or teaching is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Driving experience is beneficial if the role involves transporting children or supplies
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of French is a plus but not required
- Experience working with children of different ages and backgrounds is advantageous
- A caring attitude, patience, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role
