Gateshead College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Electrical Installation Teacher to join our growing Construction Department.
We are looking for someone who can bring real industry experience into the classroom and workshop, helping learners develop the practical skills and professional behaviours required by today's electrical industry.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a qualified electrician.
- A strong commitment to safe working practices, high-quality workmanship, and supporting learners to achieve their full potential.
- A relevant Level 3 Electrical qualification.
- The ability to communicate effectively, motivate others, and bring practical electrical knowledge to life.
- An understanding of Electrical Installation qualifications, including City & Guilds 2365 and 5357.
To support the delivery of our expanding curriculum, experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
- Solar PV installation.
- Battery storage systems.
- Electric Vehicle (EV) charging point installation.
- Curriculum planning and delivery.
- Learner assessment and quality assurance.
You do not need previous teaching experience. What matters most is that you are passionate about your trade, take pride in maintaining high standards, and are motivated by helping students and apprentices develop the confidence, skills, and ambition to progress into employment, apprenticeships, or higher-level study.
