Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Spray Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to vehicles and automotive components, ensuring a professional and durable result. Duties
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Mix paints and coatings accurately according to colour specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
- Apply primer, base coats, and clear coats using spray guns or other painting equipment, maintaining consistent coverage.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools for surface preparation and finishing tasks.
- Conduct quality checks on painted surfaces for colour consistency, smoothness, and finish quality.
- Perform light maintenance on painting equipment and ensure all safety protocols are followed during application processes.
- Assist with the organisation of work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Lift heavy components safely as required during preparation or assembly stages.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive painting processes and equipment operation.
- Proficiency in handling hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, and masking devices.
- Experience with power tools used in surface preparation and finishing tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or large panels.
- Attention to detail to achieve precise colour matching and flawless finishes.
- Good organisational skills with an emphasis on safety procedures in a workshop setting.
