This is a traditional country pub with a beautiful beer garden overlooking the Cheshire countryside. We take pride in serving high-quality homemade pub food using fresh local ingredients, including popular Sunday roasts, classic dishes and daily specials.
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the head chef and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Your enthusiasm for food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety will help ensure our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support the kitchen team in meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality food
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, including workstations, utensils, and storage spaces
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to uphold hygiene standards and prevent contamination
- Help with serving food to customers or guests in a courteous and professional manner
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to minimize waste
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service times
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and meal assembly
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper handling of ingredients
- Experience in serving or customer service roles is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward collaborative work environments
