We are seeking
Dowds are seeking Building Fabric Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive fabric maintenance across a range of commercial and public sector properties.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring buildings are maintained to a high standard, supporting compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
What you'll be responsible for

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric repairs

Undertake general building fabric works including:

Basic joinery (doors, locks, frames, ironmongery)

Minor plastering and patch repairs
-
Minor Painting and decorating
-
Tiling and flooring repairs
-
Ceiling systems and partition repairs
-
Conduct routine building inspections and identify defects
-
Ensure all works are completed in line with health & safety regulations and company standards

Accurately record works completed via CAFM systems or job sheets

Liaise with clients and site teams to ensure minimal disruption to operations

Support multi-skilled works where required, including basic support to M&E teams
What we are looking for
Essential
-
Proven experience in a Building Fabric Engineer / Fabric Technician role within FM, construction, or maintenance
-
Strong multi-trade skillset (e.g. joinery, painting, basic repairs)

Experience delivering both PPM and reactive maintenance
-
Good understanding of health & safety regulations (e.g. COSHH, RAMS)
-
Full UK driving licence

Strong communication and customer-facing skills
-
CSR/CSCS H&S Card

Security clearance is essential for this role. Candidates who already hold BPSS, CTC, or SC clearance are strongly preferred; however, applicants must be willing and able to undergo and successfully pass the required security vetting process.
