Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced, technically minded Technical Proposals & Design Coordinator to join our expanding team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of the business, helping transform customer enquiries into professionally designed renewable energy systems that are technically accurate, commercially competitive and installation-ready.
The Role
Working closely with our surveyors, directors and installation teams, you will be responsible for producing technical proposals and renewable energy system designs from customer surveys.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring every project is correctly designed before installation, while providing clear and professional proposals that customers can easily understand.
This role combines engineering, technical design, customer communication and project coordination.
Essential Requirement – Driving
- A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
- The successful candidate must be comfortable travelling to customer properties, surveys, installations and occasional manufacturer or training locations across Scotland.
- Access to a company vehicle may be provided for business travel, depending on the requirements of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Solar PV & Battery Storage
- Design domestic and commercial Solar PV systems
- Size inverters and battery storage systems
- Produce string layouts and electrical designs
- Analyse customer electricity usage
- Optimise systems for customer objectives
- Understand export limitation requirements
- Prepare G98/G99 design information
- Assist with DNO applications
Air Source Heat Pumps
- Complete heat loss calculations
- Assist with MCS compliant system design
- Size heat pumps and domestic hot water systems
- Design radiator and underfloor heating systems
- Produce emitter schedules
- Review hydraulic layouts
- Assist with commissioning documentation
Proposal Production
- Produce professional customer quotations
- Write technical proposal summaries
- Explain renewable technologies in customer-friendly language
- Prepare financial savings calculations
- Produce project documentation
Technical Support
- Review survey information
- Interpret 3D property scans
- Assess roof layouts
- Support engineers with technical queries
- Liaise with manufacturers where required
- Ensure designs comply with current regulations
Project Coordination
- Maintain accurate project records
- Update CRM systems
- Liaise with customers regarding technical queries
- Assist with equipment scheduling
- Support the operations team throughout project delivery
Essential Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with experience in some or all of the following:
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Central Scotland and occasionally further afield.

- Heating system design
- Technical report writing
- Customer proposal preparation
- Strong Microsoft Office skills

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
- Reonic
- Easy MCS
- OpenSolar
- MCS Standards
- BS7671 Wiring Regulations
- Heat Loss Calculations (MIS 3005)
- G98/G99 Applications
- Sigenergy, Fox ESS, Tesla Powerwall, Vaillant Heat Pumps, Sunamp, MyEnergi
Qualifications
Ideally you will have one or more of the following:
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
- Level 3 Electrical Qualification
- Renewable Energy qualifications
- Heat Pump Design qualifications
- Solar PV Design qualifications
Relevant industry experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications.
