Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety are maintained. The successful applicant will contribute to creating a welcoming dining experience for our guests through their expertise in meal preparation and food presentation.
This role Includes working hours Monday-Thursday 7:30-3pm, Fri and sat - variable, Sunday - Closed (Set day off plus one other week day which is variable) approx 30 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of meals according to recipes and menu specifications
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist in planning menus and developing new dishes that meet customer preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including equipment and work surfaces
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients as needed
- Serve dishes efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including proper handling of food and equipment
- Baking and preparing traybakes
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a restaurant or catering environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Experience with meal preparation across various cuisines is desirable
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not essential for motivated candidates willing to learn
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in food presentation and quality
Pay: From £13.50 per hour
