About the Role
We’re looking for a compassionate, resilient, and committed SEN Learning Support Assistants to join our team.
This is not a typical classroom role. You’ll work closely with learners on a 1:1 or small-group basis, supporting both their academic progress and emotional development.
No two days are the same—but every day matters.
What You’ll Bring
We’re less about ticking boxes and more about who you are.
You’ll need:
- Experience working with children or young people (education, youth work, care, mentoring, or similar)
- A calm, patient, and non-judgemental approach
- Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust
- Confidence supporting learners who may feel disengaged or anxious about education
- Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work independently
- A Level 2 Child-led/SEND qualification (or similar)
- Experience supporting young people with SEND
- DBS on current Update Service is desirable
Qualifications are welcomed—but attitude, values, and reliability matter most.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Delivering personalised educational or vocational sessions
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement
- Working collaboratively with families, schools, and external professionals
- Keeping clear, accurate session records and contributing to progress reviews
- Being a consistent, calm, and reliable adult presence
