Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Head Chef to join our growing kitchen team. The ideal candidate will support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and service. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to develop leadership skills within a vibrant hospitality environment. The Assistant Head Chef will play a key role in supervising kitchen staff, managing food production, and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction. The job will offer full-time hours during the holiday season, dropping to part-time outside of season.
Duties:-
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient team management and adherence to schedules
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and safety compliance
- Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards and allergen control measures
- Support in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and knowledge
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste and optimise resources
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with recipes and quality specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Assist with serving food during busy periods or special events as required
Required:-
- Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification
About You:-
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example
- Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings with a focus on high standards of service
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen
- Familiarity with culinary techniques across various cuisines is desirable
Pay: £14.00 per hour
