Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 2 Hiab Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Class 2 lorry equipped with a Hiab crane, delivering goods efficiently and safely across various locations. This role requires a professional driver with experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed loads, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 lorry fitted with a Hiab crane for the transportation and delivery of goods.
- Load and unload items using the Hiab crane, ensuring secure handling of all cargo.
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks on the vehicle and equipment before each shift.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to meet schedules and optimise efficiency.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time, maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies during operations.
- Assist with loading or unloading when required, especially on larger or awkward items such as flatbed loads.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with relevant up-to-date certification.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, ideally with delivery driver experience involving flatbed loads.
- Competence in operating a Hiab crane safely and efficiently.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial vehicle operation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
