Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with previous delivery or commercial driving experience to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment. A valid driver’s licence and good communication skills are essential to succeed in this position.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, to deliver goods to customers and clients.
- 3.45am Start including Saturday
- Follow the route plan, adjusting as necessary for traffic or weather conditions.
- Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring all deliveries are secure during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain customer signatures upon receipt of goods.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse and customers regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
- Assist in warehouse activities when not on the road, including organising stock and preparing deliveries.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles.
- Valid UK driver licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience with warehouse operations and heavy lifting is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills to plan routes efficiently and manage delivery schedules.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, colleagues, and dispatch teams.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy items safely.
- Good knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations to ensure compliance and punctuality. This role is ideal for motivated individuals who take pride in their work, prioritise safety, and excel in customer service.
