Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness and assisting with food preparation tasks. The Kitchen Porter is responsible for assisting other kitchen staff, such as cooks, chefs, supervisors, or managers.
The main duties and responsibilities include:
- Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks
- Cleaning the entire kitchen once it is closed to ensure it is ready for the next day
- Maintaining the food storage areas, like freezers and refrigerators
- Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen
- Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, crockery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher
- Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of it properly
- Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers
- Assist the Chefs in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items
- Any other responsibilities assigned by management as needed by the business.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the kitchen management.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar position is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- A basic understanding of the kitchen equipment such as dishwasher, ovens, gridles etc is preferred. Candidate should be aware of the HACCP system followed in a professional kitchen.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Pay: £12.71-£12.80 per hour
