HR Team Leader
Greenock Scotland
Hours: Full time Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
This is an exciting role that involves working with managers and other HR staff to ensure the provision of a comprehensive Human Resource service at our home in Greenock.
Main responsibilities
· To coach and work proactively with managers, providing professional human resources advice and support on a range of employee relations issues including; disciplinary and grievance, investigations and professional support at hearings. Staff performance and capability issues, management of attendance and reorganisations.
· To work proactively with managers ensuring the provision of a comprehensive recruitment service.
· Lead on the collation and processing of time management systems, forwarding information to payroll services to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
· Manage the HR Administrator and ensure they have planned the staffing rotas and organised cover for planned and unplanned absences, giving any assistance required.
· Work closely with departments, providing advice and information on Little Sister’s HR policies and procedures, assisting managers to understand and implement. those policies and procedures.
· Discuss and meet with staff to maintain effective communication.
Essential requirements: -
· You will be CIPD qualified and experienced in providing considered and effective HR solutions, advice and support to managers.
· Experience of recruitment and selection and preparing the data for payroll.
· Have up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice, with excellent written English, communication and numeracy skills.
· Have well developed IT skills including Excel.
· Be a confident friendly individual capable of building effective working relationships with care staff and managers alike.
· Have a resourceful and flexible approach to the needs of the post.
· Be comfortable working on your own and sometime dealing with minor issues.
The Organisation
Little Sisters of the Poor are a religious order founded over 150 years ago to provide residential and nursing care for the elderly. We provide a caring home with a family environment to those with limited means of all faiths or no faith. The Sisters are hands on, running and managing care units but with an increasing need for lay staff including in management posts. Together we ensure quality care respecting the dignity of each person.
