About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Shell Centre in London.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled chef who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and takes pride in delivering excellent food, maintaining high standards and leading a team.
Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, supporting food production across hospitality and events and deputising for the Head Chef when required.
What you'll do:

Support the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef with the smooth running of the kitchen.

Lead and manage the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.

Manage and coordinate daily food production, ensuring dishes are prepared and delivered to the required standard and on time.

Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and service.

Support hospitality and events with excellent food preparation and delivery.

Motivate, support and develop the kitchen brigade, creating a positive one-team environment.

Lead daily briefings and team huddles, ensuring colleagues are fully informed and prepared for service.

Ensure all team members are briefed on allergens and that the relevant documentation is completed for every service.

Manage food purchasing, storage and stock control in line with company procedures.

Work within agreed budgets and support the achievement of sales, gross profit and profitability targets.

Support the Head Chef with menu development, recipe specifications and food costing.

Bring fresh ideas and new menu concepts that reflect changing customer needs and food trends.

Ensure food safety, health and safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.

Complete all required food safety and health and safety documentation within the required timescales.

Maintain a clean, safe and professional kitchen environment.

Ensure all company, statutory and site compliance requirements are followed.

Support audits and ensure the kitchen achieves the required compliance standards.

Organise and coordinate the team effectively to meet business requirements.
What you'll bring:

Minimum 2 years' experience in a Sous Chef role or similar.

Experience working within a high-volume kitchen environment.

Relevant culinary qualification, such as 7061/7062 or equivalent.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Good IT skills.

A passion for food and consistently high standards.

A positive, can-do attitude with a genuine team-focused approach.
