Refuge Referrals, Resettlement and Support Worker*
Full Time 36 hours per week Monday to Friday
Plus occasional on-call responsibilities as part of a rota for which an additional shift allowance will be paid.
Your Sanctuary is looking for a Refuge Referrals, Resettlement and Support Worker to join our experienced Refuge team.
You will be a key part of the team responsible for the smooth running of our refuge service; assessing referrals into our service, providing a specialist resettlement service towards the end of a resident's stay and providing support during the transition period as they move from refuge into new accommodation in the community. In addition, you will provide support to refuge residents in the absence of their usual support worker, offering practical and emotional support whilst conducting one to one sessions. This is an amazing opportunity to help survivors of domestic abuse reach a place of safety and begin their journey to living a life without fear.
You must have:
- Experience of providing support to survivors of trauma such as domestic abuse.
- The ability to understand complex needs, multiple-disadvantages and assess risk.
- A professional, flexible and trauma informed approach.
- Clear communication skills both oral and written.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Knowledge of advocacy and working on a multi-agency/partnership basis.
- The ability to remain calm in stressful situations and successfully respond to and manage conflict.
- A full driving licence, a reliable car that can be used for work purposes and to live no further than a 45 minute drive from our offices in Woking.
- The ability to undertake occasional emergency on call shifts on a rota basis.
