About Cedars Care Ltd
Cedars Care Ltd is a domiciliary care provider supporting people to live well in their own homes across Nottinghamshire. We have ambitious plans to grow our service, and we are looking for a Business Development Manager who knows how to win new business, build strong referral relationships and sell a quality care service with confidence.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the growth of a small, quality focused provider and to see the direct impact of your work. You will work closely with the owners, with real autonomy to build the pipeline and grow the client base.
The opportunity
We are seeking a driven, well connected Business Development Manager to grow our client base across Nottinghamshire. You will be the person who opens doors, builds relationships with commissioners and community referrers, and converts enquiries into new care packages. The right person is a natural relationship builder who understands the care market, can speak credibly to local authority teams, discharge teams, GP surgeries and health professionals, and is motivated by hitting and beating growth targets.
Key responsibilities
- Generate new client referrals and grow the service across Nottinghamshire, covering both privately funded clients and local authority funded packages.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local authority commissioning and brokerage teams, social workers and care management teams.
- Develop and nurture referral routes with community organisations, GPs, district nurses, hospital discharge teams, community nurses, charities, retirement and supported housing schemes and voluntary sector groups.
- Represent Cedars Care professionally at community events, networking forums and provider meetings.
- Respond to new enquiries promptly and manage them through to assessment and a confident start of service.
- Work towards agreed growth targets for new clients and care hours, and report clearly on your pipeline and performance.
- Identify and pursue relevant commissioning frameworks and tender opportunities, and support the bids.
- Promote the service through local marketing, online presence and directory listings.
- Gather client and family feedback and outcomes and use them to strengthen our offer and reputation.
- Work closely with the registered manager and owners so that growth is always matched by safe, compliant capacity.
- Keep accurate records of leads, referrals and conversions.
Essential
- Proven track record of winning new business and growing a service, ideally in domiciliary or social care or a closely related community, health or social sector.
- Established relationships with, or a clear demonstrable ability to build relationships with, local authority commissioning and brokerage teams and community referrers.
- Strong understanding of the domiciliary care market and how care is funded, including private pay, local authority, NHS continuing healthcare and direct payments.
- A confident, credible communicator who can sell a quality service to commissioners, professionals, clients and families.
- Self starting, target driven and able to work independently to generate and convert leads.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community visits across Nottinghamshire.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- An existing network within Nottinghamshire health and social care.
- Knowledge of CQC standards and how quality underpins a strong sales proposition.
- Experience of tenders, commissioning frameworks and portals.
- Experience using a CRM or care management system.
