We’re Hiring an Assistant Manager at The Micro Pug.
Pug Pubs is growing and The Micro Pug is one of its most unique venues. From morning coffee through to late-night drinks (and a hidden cellar bar behind a not-so-ordinary fridge door), we’re all about creating memorable, standout experiences.
We’re looking for a bold, hands-on Assistant Manager who lives and breathes hospitality and knows how to turn great service into something people talk about.

The Role
This is your chance to step up and make an impact.
From opening the doors at 9am for quality coffee through to leading lively evening services, you’ll be at the heart of everything we do. With a drinks-led offer (plus snacks and pastries), the focus is on atmosphere, service, and consistency.
You’ll be:
- Running high-energy, well-organised shifts
- Leading from the front, visible, hands-on, and switched on
- Driving exceptional service across coffee, bar, and late-night trade
- Planning and delivering events, from intimate tastings to busy themed nights
- Bringing fresh ideas to keep the venue exciting and relevant
- Supporting recruitment, training, and development
- Helping shape our drinks offer and overall vibe
- Maintaining top standards in cleanliness, safety, and efficiency
What We’re Looking For
You don’t just manage, you set the tone.
We want someone who brings energy, ideas, and standards, and isn’t afraid to get stuck in, especially when it comes to creating events and experiences that keep people coming back.
You’ll likely have:
- Experience in a fast-paced pub, bar, or coffee-led venue
- A genuine passion for drinks, coffee, and hospitality
- Experience or interest in planning events, activations, or promotions
- Strong leadership instincts and a team-first mindset
- Attention to detail and pride in high standards
- A proactive, reliable, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
- A creative spark, someone who wants to make things better
The Details
- Full-time, permanent role
- 30-40 hours per week
- Mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts
- Based on-site at The Micro Pug
