We are seeking a skilled Self Employed Painter and Decorator to undertake painting and decorating projects on a freelance basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to manage your own schedule while delivering high-quality finishes for residential and commercial clients. Experience in construction painting and a valid driving licence are highly desirable.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to painting or decorating
- Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes with precision and care
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, adhering to client specifications and safety regulations
- Manage your own workload by scheduling appointments with clients efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout each project
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide professional advice where necessary
- Source quality materials and tools required for each job
- Complete all necessary documentation related to each project, including invoices and work reports
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating, ideally with a portfolio of completed projects
- Strong understanding of different paints, finishes, and decorating techniques
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently
