We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Back of House Butchery Assistant to support daily operations within our butchery and warehouse areas. This role is essential to maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and stock control, ensuring smooth delivery handling and clean, efficient production spaces.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a consistently clean and organised back-of-house, production, and storage environment
Follow all HACCP, health & safety, and company hygiene procedures at all times
Receive, check in, and verify all meat deliveries for accuracy, quality, temperature, and documentation
Report discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to management immediately
Correctly store meat and related products following temperature control guidelines
Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and general warehouse organisation
Support the butchery team with back-of-house tasks as required
Safely handle raw meat products following food safety standards
Ensure all cleaning logs, delivery records, and checks are completed accurately
Adhere to manual handling procedures and safe use of equipment
The ideal candidate for this role will have/be:
- Previous fresh food experience in a similar environment would be advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently, independently, and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Food safety qualifications would be an advantage however can be provided.
