We are looking for a trust-worthy, well-presented front of house colluague to join our existing team at our Pub in Kingskerswell. We are a busy Gastro Pub, located between Newton Abbot and Torquay, ranked in the top 10 restaurants in the area. We are a multinational bunch of all age groups who take pride in serving our customers.
You will be required to serve alcoholic drinks at the bar, so you need to be 18+ of age to apply for this position.
You need to be flexible on shift patterns as well as days of work. Shifts will vary between lunchtime & evenings and will cover weekdays as well as weekends. (If you are unable to work at weekends, please do not apply for this position). Our Pub is closed every Monday. In addition, breakfast shifts or housekeeping shifts are available for the right candidate to increase your weekly hours.
Previous experience in the hospitality industry is a must as you will perform a range of duties (Serving alcoholic drinks, preparing coffees...) occasionally on your own.
Our front of house staff are responsible for receiving guests, showing them to their tables, taking food and drinks orders. You should also provide customers with a bill upon completion of their meal and take payments.
To be successful as front of house staff, you should be outgoing, personable, and adept at stress management and be able to provide excellent customers service at all times making sure all customers are welcome and happy during their visit to encourage return visits.
Front of House Staff Responsibilities:
- Receiving and confirming walk-in and telephone reservations.
- Showing diners to their tables and providing them with menus.
- Taking food and drinks order and using the till system to process the orders
- Mixing and pouring beverages, as needed.
- Taking prepared dishes from the kitchen to the customers.
- Clearing glassware, silverware, and crockery
- Providing guests with their bill after the meal and taking payments
- Clearing, cleaning and relaying the tables for the next customers.
- Serving drinks at the bar
Front of House Requirements:
- A genuine desire to ensure our customers are well looked after at all times
- Previous hospitality experience necessary
- Professional, clean appearance at all times with good personal hygiene
- Wearing and maintaining uniform.
- Excellent verbal communication and memorization skills.
- Great interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain composed, particularly during stressful or uncomfortable circumstances.
- Physically fit.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and the occasional breakfast shift.
- Willingness to perform additional duties to facilitate the restaurant's operations, as needed.

This is a minimum wage position and the rate of pay will depend on your age.
