PART-TIME PHARMACY DELIVERY DRIVER — NEWARK
We are looking for an efficient and dependable part-time driver to support our prescription delivery service across Newark and the surrounding area.
This is an active, route-based role requiring good time management. It would suit someone who enjoys staying busy, knows the local roads and can complete an organised delivery round without unnecessary delays.
The role
Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering prescriptions safely and promptly to patients’ homes
- Planning and following an efficient delivery route
- Completing a busy delivery round within the allocated shift
- Obtaining confirmation of delivery where required
- Keeping delivery records accurate and up to date
- Returning undelivered prescriptions promptly to the pharmacy
- Collecting prescriptions or other items from local GP surgeries
- Keeping the pharmacy informed of delays or delivery problems
- Handling prescriptions securely and maintaining patient confidentiality
What we are looking for
The successful applicant should:
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Know Newark and the surrounding area well
- Work at a consistent and efficient pace
- Have excellent timekeeping and route-planning skills
- Be confident using satellite navigation and a smartphone
- Be comfortable working independently
- Follow the planned route and delivery procedures
- Communicate politely and professionally with patients
- Be dependable and available for agreed shifts
- Treat patient information and medication confidentially
Previous multi-drop delivery, courier, takeaway delivery, community care or pharmacy delivery experience would be particularly helpful.
This role is performance-based in the sense that delivery rounds must be completed safely and within a reasonable allocated time. Safety, accuracy and patient confidentiality must never be compromised.
Hours and location
Part-time hours based at our Newark pharmacy. The regular working pattern will be discussed at interview, with occasional additional hours potentially available for holiday and sickness cover.
Applicants may be invited to complete a short paid trial shift to assess route planning, safe driving, communication and suitability for multi-drop delivery work.
