We are seeking a General Assistant to join our team. In this role you will support technicians and lecturers with the day-to-day running of the kitchens and practical learning areas, ensuring classrooms are prepared and set up in a timely and appropriate manner for teaching sessions.
You will help maintain suitable stock levels across the kitchens, ensuring essential ingredients, materials and equipment are available when required, while supporting the safe and efficient use of kitchen equipment. You will also assist with maintaining equipment in a safe operational condition and contribute to ensuring clean, organised and safe working environments in line with health and safety requirements.

About the role:
To support teaching staff and technicians by supporting students in all aspects within the curriculum
To ensure all materials needed by teaching staff, technicians and students are prepared in a timely, effective and efficient manner
To ensure equipment is maintained in Salons and/or Kitchens and to report any faults to the Technician Supervisor.
Adherence to Health & Safety at Work Regulations.
The promotion & development of safe working practices.
Assist teaching staff, technicians and students with maintaining and cleaning salons and/or kitchens while commercial operations are in place. This includes working during the day and evenings, according to Shift pattern allocated.
To undertake laundry tasks for Hospitality and Salon Studies as delegated.
Essential Experience:
Practical industrial experience within a commercial salon and/or kitchen.
Experience with working effectively as part of a team.
Awareness of Health & Safety at Work and related issues.
Good experience in using ILT skills
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent.
