Duties
- Assist in preparing a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards
- Support the cooking process by handling basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food handling and preparation
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Help with organising ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Contribute to plating and presentation of meals to meet quality standards
- Support the team during busy periods by efficiently managing multiple tasks
- Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times, including proper storage of perishable items
- Ensure dietry requirements are met
Skills
- Previous experience or knowledge in food preparation and cooking is essential;
- Familiarity with kitchen safety procedures and food hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong teamwork ethic and effective communication skills
- Willingness to learn new culinary techniques and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting
- Understanding of meal preparation, food safety practices, and restaurant operations is advantageous
