Support Worker – Mental Health Service (Old Vicarage)
Location: The Old Vicarage, Hyson Green, Nottingham (NG7)
Salary: £28,883.94 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, worked on a rota including days, evenings and weekends
Contract: Fixed Term – Initially 6 Months (Maternity Cover)

We're looking for a compassionate, motivated and resilient Support Worker to join our Mental Health Service at The Old Vicarage. This is an exciting opportunity to support people experiencing mental ill health to build confidence, develop independent living skills and achieve positive outcomes.
This is an initial six-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. There is the potential for the contract to be extended, subject to the return date of the substantive postholder and the needs of the service.
About the role
Every day is different. You'll build positive, trusting relationships with residents, providing practical and emotional support that empowers them to live as independently as possible.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of residents and delivering person-centred support.
- Completing support plans, needs assessments and risk assessments.
- Supporting residents to improve their wellbeing, independence and life skills.
- Working alongside health professionals and partner agencies.
- Supporting residents with welfare benefits, tenancy sustainment and housing management.
- Promoting social inclusion, recovery and positive mental wellbeing.
- Maintaining accurate records and electronic case files.
- Carrying out health and safety checks and helping to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
- Encouraging residents to achieve their personal goals and move towards independent living.
About you
We're looking for someone who is caring, resilient and passionate about supporting people.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience working with people experiencing mental ill health or other vulnerable adults.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred support.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
- A positive, proactive approach with a genuine desire to improve people's lives.
