We are looking for a Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a background in engineering / fastener manufacturing and be committed to producing high-quality components while working safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC and/or conventional machining equipment.
- Manufacture a range of threaded fasteners, including bolts, screws, studs, pins, and custom components, to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform machine set-ups, tool changes, and routine adjustments to maintain efficient production.
- Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment, including micrometres, verniers and thread gauges.
- Ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
- Follow all company health, safety, and quality procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a machinist in a fastener manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Reliable, motivated, and safety conscious.
Desirable Experience (Not Essential)
- Previous experience in the manufacture of industrial fasteners.
- Experience operating Capstan lathes.
- Experience using thread cutting, or threading machines.
- Experience with CNC or conventional turning equipment.
- Knowledge of quality standards.
- Full training will be provided for the right candidate who has the right attitude and transferable machining skills.
