Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications following pharmacy protocols and safety standards
- Verify prescriptions for correctness, dosage, and appropriateness before dispensing
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and packaging to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and storage
- Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications, inventory levels, and patient interactions
- Support medication administration processes in collaboration with healthcare providers when needed
- Ensure compliance with all legal regulations and pharmacy policies to uphold safety and quality standards
Experience
- Prior experience as a pharmacy dispenser or in a similar pharmacy support role is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
