Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to provide nursery lunch time cover. This role involves supervising children during their lunch time, ensuring their safety, and supporting their social needs. The successful candidate will contribute to creating a positive and nurturing environment for young children, fostering their development and wellbeing during this important part of the day. Responsibilities
- Supervise children during lunch times, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
- Assist children with eating, encouraging good manners and independence
- Support children in socialising and engaging in appropriate behaviour during break times
- Maintain a clean and organised lunch area, including tidying up after meals
- Communicate effectively with children, colleagues, and parents as required
- Follow all nursery policies and procedures related to child safety and care
- Support the wider nursery team with additional duties as needed to promote a positive environment
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and nursery routines
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Management or leadership experience is advantageous but not essential
- Childcare qualifications or relevant training are preferred
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
- Valid driving licence is beneficial for travel between nursery sites or activities
