Position: Band 5 Community Nurse
Vacancies: 2 x Full-Time Equivalent
Duration: 2 months initially with chances of extension
Booking Type: Block booking only
Shift Pattern: 7-day rota
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for Band 5 Community Nurses to join a community nursing service in Shrewsbury. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced community nurses looking for a 2-month block booking.
Candidates must have previous community nursing experience and be confident delivering a broad range of clinical interventions in patients' homes and community settings.
Working Hours
The service operates a 7-day rota, with shifts typically scheduled between 08:00 and 18:00.
Available working patterns may include:
- 3 or 4 longer days
- 08:00–16:00
- 08:30–16:30
- 10:00–18:00
- Or 5 shorter days
Key Clinical Skills Required
Candidates should have experience in the following areas:
- Complex wound care, including Doppler assessment and compression therapy
- Simple wound care
- End-of-life and palliative care
- Medication administration
- Male, female and suprapubic catheterisation
- Bowel care
- Syringe driver management
- Insulin administration
- Doppler assessments
- Compression bandaging
Essential Requirements
- Previous community nursing experience
- Valid NMC registration
- Ability to work independently within a community setting
- Strong clinical assessment and patient-care skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Own car required, as the role involves travelling between community patients
