Security Solutions Consultant
About the Role
We’re looking for a technically strong, commercially aware individual to take ownership of the pre-sales and technical delivery side of our security offering. This role sits at the centre of sales, customers, and delivery. You’ll be responsible for making sure opportunities are properly understood, solutions are well designed, and projects are set up to run smoothly from day one.
The aim is simple: to allow the sales team to focus on selling, while you ensure everything behind the scenes works as it should.
You’ll be the main technical point of contact within the security team, supporting the full lifecycle from initial enquiry through to project readiness. This includes:
- Supporting sales with technical input on opportunities
- Understanding customer requirements and shaping the right solution
- Carrying out site surveys and defining scope
- Designing systems and selecting appropriate products
- Ensuring a smooth transition from sale to delivery
You’ll also take ownership of the operational side of the function, ensuring licensing, ordering, vendors, and installation partners are aligned, and projects are set up for success from day one.
What You'll Do
- Support the sales team by providing technical expertise throughout the sales process
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to understand customer requirements and define project scope
- Design security solutions including CCTV, access control, and cloud-based security platforms
- Produce technical proposals, scopes of work, and bills of materials
- Coordinate handovers between sales, customers, installation partners, and delivery teams
- Manage vendor relationships, licensing, ordering, and deal registration activities
- Ensure projects are accurately documented and prepared before delivery begins
- Maintain technical standards and consistency across all installations
- Stay current with product developments and emerging technologies within the security sector
- Support process improvement initiatives and provide technical guidance to the wider team
Requirements
Essential:
- Good working knowledge of electronic security systems
- Experience in a technical, pre-sales, solutions design, or consultancy role
- Ability to confidently engage with customers and understand business requirements
- Experience carrying out site surveys and translating findings into practical solutions
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance technical requirements with business objectives
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites when required
Nice to have (we’ll help you get there):
- Experience within physical security, CCTV, access control, or related sectors
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, connectivity, and infrastructure
- Experience working with third-party installation partners or subcontractors
- Vendor accreditations or certifications within the security industry
- Experience managing licensing and cloud-based security platforms
