As well as the above salary, we can offer 25 days paid holiday plus bank holiday entitlement (pro-rated for p/t staff).
Job Purpose:
Collaborate with & support the Shop Manager to recruit and lead a team of volunteers who, with your support, will:
· Deliver an exceptional retail offer to engage support from the local community
· Maximise the sales & profitability of the shop, achieving agreed budgets
· Provide unrivalled customer and donor service
· At all times represent NWCR professionally and positively, embodying the charity’s values
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume shop management responsibilities, especially in the absence of the SM
- Ensure that the shop is adequately staffed with volunteers to maintain service levels and turnover
- Foster an inclusive culture, putting diversity at the heart of recruitment and taking a ‘zero tolerance’ approach to all forms of prejudice
- Achieve agreed income targets including sales & Gift Aid
- Understand and work to NWCR standards regarding stock management, visual merchandising & pricing
- Take the lead in providing a happy, safe working environment for all; responsible for ensuring compliance with H&S policies and procedures
- Keep safe all NWCR property (including cash) and ensure financial reporting processes are completed
- Enhance the charity’s reputation by acting as an ambassador for NWCR; ensuring all donations are gratefully received and brilliant customer service is embedded throughout the team
- Attend regular meetings without disruption to trading
- Undertake additional duties outside listed key responsibilities, within the team and across the charity, as reasonably required
Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
· Demonstrable experience of leading and managing a team
· Previous retail experience in either a charity or commercial setting
· Proven drive & ability to meet or exceed targets
· Tendency to self-motivate and assume responsibility, organizing yourself and others
· Basic IT literacy and numeracy skills as well as the ability to understand and interpret basic financial reports
Additional requirements:
· Proof of your eligibility to work in the UK
· DBS check (to be undertaken once the role is offered and accepted)
· Some local travel requirements (for team meetings / training etc.)
Pay: £15,862.00 per year
