Freelance Property Standards & Styling Coordinator – Kentish Town
£30 per hour | Approx. 10 hours initially | Ongoing flexible work available
I am preparing a characterful two-bedroom property in Kentish Town for launch as a premium short-term rental and am looking for a practical, organised person with an excellent eye for detail to help me get the property completely guest-ready.
This is not primarily a cleaning role and you do not need to be an interior designer.
I am looking for someone who can walk through the property with a critical eye, identify what needs improving, and then help make sure those things actually get done.
Initially, I expect approximately 10 hours of work at £30 per hour, spread across several visits over the next few days. If we work well together, I would like this to develop into an ongoing role checking the property between guest stays and helping maintain consistently high standards.
Initially, you will:
- Walk through the entire property and identify anything that needs cleaning, repairing, replacing, rearranging or improving before launch.
- Help prioritise what genuinely needs to be done rather than spending unnecessarily.
- Help identify any missing household, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom or guest essentials.
- Work within a maximum purchasing budget that I will set.
- Check work completed by cleaners and handymen and make sure it has been done properly.
- Make practical styling and presentation improvements using primarily what is already in the property.
- Return to the property as necessary while the work is being completed.
- Carry out a final detailed inspection before photography and the first guests arrive.
Longer term
For the right person, I would like this to become an ongoing Property Standards role.
This could include visiting after guest changeovers, checking cleaning and presentation, monitoring supplies, identifying maintenance issues and making sure the property is always presented to the same high standard.
The person I'm looking for
You don't need formal qualifications. I'm much more interested in judgement, reliability and attention to detail.
You might have experience in:
- Airbnb or short-term rentals
- Housekeeping or housekeeping supervision
- Boutique hotels or hospitality
- Property management
- Home staging or interiors
- Managing a high-standard private home
Most importantly, you should be someone who naturally notices when something isn't right and takes the initiative to deal with it.
I don't want someone who simply waits to be given a list of tasks. I want someone comfortable saying: this needs fixing; this hasn't been cleaned properly; we're missing this; this doesn't look right; this needs to be redone.
