Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in legal practice, with particular expertise in negotiation and strategic legal advisory. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex legal matters, provide expert counsel, and contribute to the organisation’s ongoing success. The Senior Lawyer will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a broad range of legal cases, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Provide expert legal advice to senior management and clients on various issues, including contractual negotiations, compliance, and risk management.
- Negotiate favourable terms in contracts, settlements, and other legal agreements with clients, partners, and external counsel.
- Draft, review, and amend legal documents such as contracts, policies, and memoranda.
- Oversee the work of junior lawyers and paralegals, offering guidance and mentorship to develop their skills.
- Keep abreast of changes in legislation that could impact the organisation’s operations or strategic objectives.
- Represent the organisation in negotiations, mediations, or court proceedings when necessary.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Experience
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience practising law within a recognised jurisdiction.
- Proven expertise in negotiation with a track record of securing favourable outcomes for clients or organisations.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, commercial law, or related fields is desirable.
- Experience advising senior executives or board members is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
