We are looking for a passionate, caring and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and wants to contribute positively to their development during their important early years.
Responsibilities
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will:
- Provide high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities based on children's interests and developmental needs.
- Support children's learning through play, exploration and meaningful interactions.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, mealtimes, rest periods and daily routines, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Build warm, secure and positive relationships with children.
- Support children's emotional development, confidence, independence and social skills.
- Observe, assess and record children's learning and development and contribute to individual learning plans and next steps.
- Act as a Key Person, developing strong relationships with allocated children and their families.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, carers and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records, including observations, daily information and other required documentation.
- Follow nursery safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour management and confidentiality procedures.
- Help maintain a clean, organised, stimulating and welcoming nursery environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistently high standards of care and education.
- Attend staff meetings, training and professional development opportunities as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a recognised Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification or equivalent.
- Has previous experience working within a nursery, preschool or other early years setting.
- Has a good understanding of the EYFS and how young children learn and develop.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
- Is warm, patient, enthusiastic and genuinely passionate about working with children.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is reliable, organised and able to use initiative.
- Can build positive and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Is committed to providing an inclusive environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential.
Desirable
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Safeguarding training.
- Food Hygiene training.
- Experience working as a Key Person.
- Experience supporting children with SEND.
- Previous experience within an Ofsted-registered early years setting.
