THE ROLE
As a lead member of the delivery team, you will work across all Youth Zone sessions and have lead responsibility for the delivery of these sessions on a rota basis working one weekend in two. Juniors are 7-12yrs and Seniors are 12-19 years (up to 25 with additional needs). You will ensure that the Youth Worker team are motivated and skilled to provide a high-quality, inclusive, creative and fun offer that is age specific with high energy on all sessions.
This position will focus on young people and the job holders will work in line with the Youth Zone’s aspirations to provide young people with the best possible experiences and opportunities on every Universal session. You will have a passion to put young people first. You will be responsible for collaborating across other functions to achieve the continuous improvement of our inclusive delivery and inputting towards the strategic delivery plan for the Youth Zone.
These are fun, exciting and challenging roles in a growing and ambitious charity with up to 250 young people attending a session and no two days will ever be the same.
WHAT SUCCESS WILL LOOK LIKE
The successful candidate, in the first 12 months, will have:
Supported the Youth Zone to achieve 1500 visits by young people a week, inspired by the continually changing & vibrant offer
Collaborated with the delivery team to ensure a vibrant and inclusive development programme is in place on every session, planned 3 months in advance taking in to consideration the views of youth voice
Grown, recruited, developed, and led the sessional delivery team to provide a supportive, safe, inclusive and ambitious environment.
Have developed strong local partnerships which result in direct benefit to the borough’s young people.
Introduced an evaluation framework alongside young people’s feedback to enhance the quality of the support given to help young people’s progression.
Ensure volunteer & young leaders are well managed & supported.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The normal hours of work are 30 per week, or those necessary to fulfil the requirements of the position. There will be a requirement to work outside the normal 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, working week, including frequent evenings and weekends. This will mean working flexibly across the week, to suit the needs of both the role and the individual.
