Key responsibilities & duties
Are you an experience treatment co-ordinator, or a dental nurse looking to expand your duties and take on a TCO role alongside nursing?
We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking, qualified dental nurse who is looking to step into a treatment co-ordinator role. Your role will be a mixture of TCO duties and nursing chairside; 2-3 days in surgery/decon and 1-2 days on reception/TCO:
- Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
- Set-up and prepare the surgery for the type of patient and treatment planned
- Clean and sterilise all equipment and working surfaces to the required standards at the end of each session
- Escort patients from the waiting room to the surgery, confirming the medical history and bringing any changes to the attention of the dentist
- Provide clinical assistance under the supervision of the dentist
- Continually evaluate the needs of patients and specialist and deal with them promptly and efficiently
- Assist in the completion of patient records
- Monitor and maintain stock levels as necessary and take charge of ordering materials for the practice when levels run low
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with the dental and reception team
- Comply with all GDC and CQC requirements
- Follow all practice policies and procedures and patient confidentiality
- Establish relationships and build rapport with our patients and referring dentists
- Act as the point of contact for patients throughout their treatment journey
- Reception duties
- Sending reports, treatment plans and patient finance information
- Liaise with specialists regarding cases
Additional duties:
- Decontamination duties in our central sterilisation room
- Assisting the hygienists
- Covering reception and other administrative duties as and when required
- Assisting with compliance
- The ideal candidate will be confident using SOE Exact software.

Essential Academic or trade qualifications
- Dental nursing Diploma/NVQ or equivalent
- GDC registered
- Work experience and skills
- Minimum 1-year Dental Nursing
- Experience using SOE
- Experience in a TCO capacity advantageous but not essential
