About Us
We are a well-established manufacturer of paper bags and packaging products, supplying customers across the UK. We are looking for reliable and motivated Machine Setters / Machine Operators to join our production team.
The Role
You will be responsible for setting up, operating and monitoring specialist converting machinery that transforms paper reels into finished paper bags.
The successful candidate will ensure machines are running efficiently, product quality standards are maintained, and production targets are achieved safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust paper bag manufacturing machines
- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently
- Monitor machine performance and product quality
- Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and reduce downtime
- Record production data and quality checks
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area
- Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to meet production schedules
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience operating manufacturing or production machinery
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to quality and detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience as a Machine Setter, Machine Operator, Production Operator or similar role
- Experience within packaging, paper converting, printing, labels, envelopes, bags, tissue or related industries
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
