Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Facilities Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and operational efficiency of our facilities, ensuring a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment. The Facilities Assistant will work closely with supervisory staff to uphold high standards of safety and operational excellence across our premises.
Duties
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks including inspections, repairs, and servicing of equipment and infrastructure
- Support electrical systems maintenance, including troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and interpreting schematics
- Conduct basic welding and mechanical repairs as required
- Monitor and maintain facility systems to ensure optimal performance
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment or systems
- Support supervising staff in organising maintenance schedules and ensuring compliance with safety regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to internal teams by addressing facilities-related queries promptly
- Lead small teams during maintenance projects when required, demonstrating leadership qualities
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the facilities to promote safety and efficiency
Qualifications
- Proven experience with electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics interpretation
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in welding and general maintenance tasks
- Strong understanding of facility systems and preventative maintenance procedures
- Previous supervising or leadership experience is desirable
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Customer service orientation with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in electrical or mechanical trades are advantageous

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
