Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, including vans and lorries, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Plan delivery routes to optimise efficiency and meet delivery deadlines
- Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, with attention to safety procedures
- Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries and pickups
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times or issues
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle
- Report any vehicle defects or accidents promptly to management
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, with strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations
- Valid driver’s licence appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., Category <PERSON> driver)
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Good organisational skills to manage schedules and routes effectively
- Clean driving record with the ability to pass background checks and vehicle assessments
