Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching and teaching, with the ability to inspire and motivate athletes of all ages and skill levels. As a Sports Coach, you will be responsible for developing training programmes, enhancing athletic performance, and fostering a positive team environment.
This will be for an afterschool Sports club at a Primary school based in Wells BA5.
Wednesdays 3:15pm - 4:15pm
Duties
- Design and implement training sessions tailored to the needs of individual athletes and teams.
- Teach fundamental skills, strategies, and techniques in various sports disciplines.
- Monitor athlete progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
- Organise and lead practice sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Develop game plans and strategies for competitions while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and other coaching staff to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
- Maintain records of athlete performance, attendance, and behaviour for assessment purposes.
- Stay updated on the latest coaching techniques, trends in sports science, and safety protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience in sports coaching with a strong understanding of various sports disciplines.
- Excellent teaching skills with the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
- Strong leadership qualities to motivate athletes and foster teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with athletes, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to assess individual athlete needs and adapt training accordingly.
- Strong organisational skills to manage schedules, training sessions, and administrative tasks effectively.
