Kitchen Assistant - Job Description
Harbour Rise Care Home, is a lovely family owned Care Home in Paignton. We are rated 'Outstanding' with the Care Quality Commission {CQC}.
Our staff are all permanently employed, we don't use agency staff, we pay weekly, and we would welcome having a discussion as to how you might be able to help. Our kitchen was recently renovated by Bartletts, it has all new appliances and a Rational oven so it is a pleasant environment to work in.
Ideally, we are looking for an experienced Kitchen Assistant for 'approximately' 20 to 25 hours per week. We would ideally like a flexible person who can also help with additional hours when they are available to cover for sickness and holiday.

Harbour Rise has an enviable reputation and many of its staff have worked there over 10 years. All necessary training is provided, with paid breaks as well as lunch.
Any previous cooking experience would also be of great interest to us to help assist in covering holiday for staff holidays.
Kitchen Assistant - Summary of Tasks
Prepare breakfast as per individual requirements.
Deliver breakfast to residents as required.
Work with care staff to monitor choices and quantities eaten
Clear crockery from dining room as required after residents finish their breakfast.
Wash up (check that all dishes and cutlery are clean)
Put dishes away in a tidy manner
Assist the cook with preparing the cold starters for lunch
Create tea time meals which is a combination of Hot and Cold food
Monitor cleanliness of the kitchen and report any issues
Assist the cooks in maintaining good standards for the environmental health inspections. (Checking dates on foods, keeping fridges in an orderly manner, disposing of foods which are undated or uncovered, ensuring any foods placed in the fridges are covered and dated)
Clean dishwasher at the end of the shift
Check that the kitchen is left in a tidy condition for the next shift.
Communicate with other staff and work as an effective member of the team.
Take part in resident and staff meetings
Participate in training programmes
Work with others to maintain standards in accordance with the Aims and Objectives of the Home
To perform other duties as may be reasonably required

Pay: £12.82-£13.42 per hour
