Job Summary
We are seeking experienced and proactive Managers in Logistics to oversee and optimise our supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards. Duties
- Oversee daily logistics operations, including shipping and receiving, warehouse management, and transportation management systems utilisation.
- Supervise logistics teams to ensure adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.
- Manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers and coordinate with external vendors to optimise supply chain performance.
- Analyse profit & loss statements related to logistics activities to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing waste across the supply chain.
- Utilise ERP systems and AS400 platforms for inventory control, order processing, and reporting.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate stock levels using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Oversee forklift operations and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations during warehouse activities.
- Develop strategies for continuous improvement in logistics processes, including shipping & receiving workflows.
- Monitor transportation routes and schedules to optimise delivery times while controlling costs.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a logistics or supply chain environment.
- Strong understanding of profit & loss management related to logistics operations.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems, ERP platforms, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and AS400 systems.
- Knowledge of 3PL providers, shipping & receiving protocols, and warehouse operations including forklift handling.
- Solid understanding of supply chain principles, warehousing practices, and distribution strategies.
- Ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in logistics or supply chain management are desirable but not essential.

Pay: £41,000.00-£41,700.00 per year
