Role Description
The Sponsorship & Partnerships Lead plays a key role in supporting the financial sustainability and growth of East Coast Pride. This volunteer will develop and nurture relationships with local businesses, regional partners, and national brands to secure sponsorship, donations, and in-kind support that help deliver East Coast Pride’s events and community projects.
This is a hands-on, relationship-focused role ideal for someone who enjoys networking, creative collaboration, and making a tangible impact on the local community.
Person Specification
- Experience in sales, partnerships, fundraising, or business development, ideally within a charity, events, or community setting.
- Confident relationship-builder who enjoys networking and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to produce persuasive proposals and clear updates.
- Organised and proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple opportunities.
- Understanding of or interest in ethical fundraising and inclusivity.
- Commitment to East Coast Pride’s values of equality, diversity, inclusion, and community celebration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a Sponsorship and Partnerships Plan aligned to East Coast Pride’s strategic goals.
- Identify, approach, and secure sponsorship and partnership opportunities from local businesses, regional organisations, and national brands.
- Create compelling proposals and presentations that clearly communicate the benefits of partnering with East Coast Pride.
- Manage sponsor relationships before, during, and after the Pride event, ensuring partners are recognised and their agreed benefits are delivered.
- Support grant and fundraising activity, including local appeals, raffles, and corporate donations.
- Maintain accurate records of sponsors, donors, and partnership agreements.
- Collaborate closely with other volunteer leads (Marketing, Fundraising, Events) to integrate sponsors into wider Pride activity.
- Report regularly to the Pride Committee on progress, new opportunities, and partnership outcomes.
- Represent East Coast Pride at community and stakeholder events when appropriate.
Key Information
- Remuneration: The role is not accompanied by any financial remuneration, although expenses for travel may be claimed where finances and allocation allow.
- Time commitment: Flexible volunteer role, but in the region of 5-10 hours per week depending on commitment. Attendance at fortnightly Pride Committee meetings, as well as ad hoc meetings with other volunteers.
